Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the application of particle accelerator technologies. Topics may include, but are not limited to: novel techniques for the production of neutrons or other particles and the utilization of these particles for nuclear energy, defense, and medical or diagnostic imaging purposes.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the use of nuclear science and technologies for the application to aerospace. Topics may include, but are not limited to: advancements in the design and operations of nuclear-based propulsion and power systems for extra-terrestrial exploration and air travel or novel methods to protect against space, atmospheric, and nuclear power system radiation.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the knowledge of nuclear science to the life sciences and society. Topics may include, but are not limited to: the application or development of state-of-the-art nuclear technologies for dosimetry, radioisotope imaging, effects of radiation exposure, radiation based therapies, and other related subjects.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the decommissioning, decontamination, and reutilization. Topics may include, but are not limited to: long-term surveillance and maintenance of nuclear facilities, materials and sites.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to state-of-the-art radiation detection systems and techniques. Topics may include, but are not limited to: novel radiation detector designs and materials, novel radiation detection systems, and advanced data analysis techniques.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to curriculum development efforts, experiences participating in or developing new training programs, novel outreach programs and student section activities. All student sections are strongly encouraged to submit to this track to report generally on their activities or on a particularly successful outreach effort.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the relationship between nuclear technology and the environment. Topics may include, but are not limited to: the ecological influences of nuclear processes and related industries, nuclear production of hydrogen, and comparisons of the environmental impact of nuclear power to other emerging technologies for power production.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to advanced fuel cycle objectives. Topics may include, but are not limited to: sustainability, transmutation, proliferation resistance, used fuel reprocessing, waste management technologies, etc.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to plasma physics and optionally, its application to the production of energy through fusion. Topics may include, but are not limited to: recent experimental results, novel inertial or magnetic confinement fusion systems design, and advances in materials developments for fusion environments.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the relationship between human and system performance with regards to safety, reliability, and efficiency. Topics may include, but are not limited to: the novel design of tasks, procedures and instrumentation, anthropometrics, stress control, etc.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the application of isotopes and radiation in industry and scientific research. Topics may include, but are not limited to: industrial measurements, radiation effects, nuclear and atomic analysis, etc. Topics on safeguards and nonproliferation should be submitted to the "Nonproliferation & Nuclear Safeguards" track.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the development of materials for nuclear applications or the use of nuclear techniques in materials science. Topics may include, but are not limited to: microstructure analysis, corrosion studies, ion beam modification of materials, radiation damage in materials, etc.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the mathematical or computational problems and analysis methods arising in all disciplines of nuclear science and engineering. Topics may include, but are not limited to: advancements in numerical solution techniques, analytic solutions for benchmarking, hybrid methods, or numerical analysis.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the advancement of engineering systems or use of technologies for nonproliferation and safeguards applications. Topics may include, but are not limited to: system development, characterization and/or results from use. Papers emphasizing detector development should be submitted to the Detection & Measurements track.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the safe handling of fissionable materials outside of reactors. Topics may include, but are not limited to: cross section measurements, critical or sub-critical experiments, and best practices for operation.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to safety of nuclear installations and the public. Topics may include, but are not limited to: probabilistic risk and safety assessments of nuclear facilities, severe accident analysis, or development of novel safety systems or programs.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the use of nuclear power systems for the production of electricity or process heat. Topics may include, but are not limited to: design, licensing and construction of new nuclear power plants, novel fuel management strategies, or economic analyses.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to analysis of existing/proposed policies and/or recommendations for new policies related to nuclear technology. Topics may include, but are not limited to: used fuel management, proliferation, safeguards, stockpile management and international agreements. Topics addressing these issues on a purely technical basis, with no policy analysis, should be submitted to their respective tracks.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to radiation transport, and shielding designs. Topics may include, but are not limited to: radiation transport applications, novel radiation protection system designs, and analysis of state-of-the-art radiation protection and shielding systems.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the application of robotic and remote systems to hazardous environments for the purpose of reducing exposure to individuals. Topics may include, but are not limited to: innovative sensors, remote systems design, development of intelligent systems, or performance testing of state-of-the-art robots.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to the advancement of knowledge characterizing the fundamental physical phenomena of nuclear reactors. Topics may include, but are not limited to: development of new reactor analysis methods or techniques, development of new reactor designs, nuclear data, validation/verification reactor tools or designs, steady-state and transient analyses, etc.
Submissions to this track should contain technical content related to thermal hydraulics/fluids design, analysis, methods development and transient accidents simulations. Topics may include, but are not limited to: general thermal hydraulics, general two-phase flow, computational thermal hydraulics, computational fluid dynamics and thermal hydraulics for advanced reactors as well as analysis of thermodynamic cycles for electricity generation.
